Site Manager USA (m/f)
Responsibility
This position is the on-site field representative for Phoenix Solar commercial and utility scale construction projects. The Site Manager coordinates all of the materials deliveries and subcontractors’ work; ensures that the systems are installed correctly and provides feedback to the design team. This position may manage multiple medium to large installations or one mega installation at any given time.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO) THE FOLLOWING:
• Pre-plans the installation of the Phoenix Solar product and related items and reviews the contract documents to ensure compliance with all required provisions
• Works with Phoenix Solar Contracts Manager to resolve contract issues
• Arranges directly or through subcontractors for the necessary site logistic in terms of office containers, connectivity, utilities connections, etc.
• Provides on-site oversight of contractors and trades
• Issues project reporting about the site progress. Communicates proactively with Director, Construction and other team members as needed
• Checks the subcontractors progress reports and validate their associated payment requests
• Manages OSHA records
• Enforce quality control programs
• Manage audits and inspections
• May oversee more junior site managers on a per project basis
• Provides main day-to-day customer interface
• Manages site safety program; includes holding safety tailgates, safety audits, carrying out accident investigations, and ensuring contractor compliance with Phoenix Solar, customer, and government/OSHA safety guidelines. Ensures that only authorized personnel are allowed on the worksite
• Arranges for the delivery of the Phoenix Solar products; schedules and coordinates the installation of the products with the customer, subcontractors and inspectors
• Maintains an accurate onsite field binder with all pertinent logs and reports
• Closes out the project and turns it over to O&M group
Requirements
Education:
• Associate degree or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of commercial construction experience
Experience:
• Experience with electrical systems and wiring is strongly preferred
• Electrical and/or Civil Engineering experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of construction and electrical codes required
• Prior construction management experience required
Business Tools:
• Proficiency required in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Project and/or P6 Primavera strongly preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND TRAVEL
• Primarily a field environment
• Up to 70% domestic and occasional international travel, often on short notice
• May be assigned to projects more than 200 miles away from home for extended periods of time
• Requires a valid driver’s license
• This position is physically demanding, including the ability to work in hot, cold and wet weather
• May regularly lift up to 40 pounds and perform other physical tasks within limits of the safety policy
